Uzbek-Hungarian conference with IFAT participation
As a side event of the high-level Hungarian and Uzbek political meetings, a conference titled “Uzbekistan and Hungary: Prospects of Bilateral and Interregional Cooperation” was held on 31 March 2021 with the participation of the director and chief advisor of the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT). The conference was organized by IFAT’s partner institution, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS), which is Uzbekistan’s leading research institute and think tank in the field of international relations.
The event was opened by the two directors, Sanjar Valiev and Márton Ugrósdy, followed by three successive sections on different topics (Prospects for bilateral cooperation, Interaction within the framework of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states, Interregional Cooperation within the framework of the The Visegrad Group and Central Asia). Dr. László Vasa, senior researcher and chief advisor of IFAT, gave a lecture on Hungarian-Uzbek economic relations in the first section.
