The Struggle for Technological Supremacy: China’s Recent Technological Development and Its Interpretations

This policy brief sheds light on how power relations have changed in recent years, focusing on one aspect, the technological competition between the United States of America and China. Based on selected indicators, the paper gives an overview of the struggle for technological supremacy between the two powers. The findings help answer the question whether claims concerning China secretly striving for technological supremacy can indeed be confirmed and what is probably even more important, whether this goal can be achieved.
