The 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Tajikistan

Director Márton Ugrósdy delivered opening remarks at celebration marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Tajikistan on February 11 at the Uránia National Film Theater. The event featured the public screening of the movie „The Lame Dervish”, which depicts the travels and adventures of Ármin Vámbéry. Director Ugrósdy spoke about the increasing contacts between the two countries, including the growing number of Tajik students pursuing university degrees in Hungary in the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum program, as well as the possibility for greater cooperation in water management, especially as Tajikistan holds 60 percent of the freshwater reserves of Central Asia.
