Study trip for civil servants organized by HIIA

In 2023, civil servants from Albania participated in the Think Visegrad Civil Servants Mobility Programme in Budapest, organized by the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs.

The central theme of the study visit for the five civil servants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Prime Minister’s Office of Albania included EU agricultural policies and Hungary’s experiences concerning its EU accession process. The delegation held meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Western Balkans Green Center, National Chamber of Agriculture, Hungarian State Treasury, Centre for Agricultural Research, KPMG Hungary and the Ottó Herman Institute as well as visited the Somodi Fruit-growing Estate.

The main objective of the Civil Servants Mobility Programme is the education of civil servants from Eastern Partnership and Western Balkan countries through organizing study visits in the V4 countries. The study visits are focused on the experience of Visegrad countries in the implementation of the sectoral reforms and harmonisation of the national legislation with the EU acquis communautaire. The week-long professional programme was organized by the Balkan research group of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs.
