Márton Ugrósdy at the conference of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

Márton Ugrósdy, director of the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT) took part at the High-level Think Tank Forum for High-quality Development of China-CEEC Local Cooperation, organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Ningbo.

The event, which was organized in a hybrid format allowed Mr. Ugrósdy to talk about the importance of culture and commerce in building and deepening bilateral cooperation between Hungary and China. He mentioned the chorus classes held with the Kodály-method, which are organized by the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Beijing as a good example of people to people contacts and an opportunity to involve disadvantaged children to a community activity, providing insights into their own and the Hungarian culture. Furthermore, the Chinese diaspora living in Hungary can act as a facilitator in business, even though the geographic distance, as well as the language and cultural barriers are still standing in the way of Hungarian enterprises trying to enter the Chinese market.
