HIIA Diplomatic Dialogue – A Renewed Foundation for International Cooperation
The HIIA Diplomatic Dialogue was successfully held at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, where we were honoured to welcome representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Budapest. The event provided an opportunity to introduce our renewed Institute, strengthen diplomatic ties, and promote bilateral cooperation built on professional dialogue and long-term partnerships.
With the Institute’s return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a new chapter has begun. In his address, György László Velkey, Deputy Minister and State Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs, highlighted the importance of Hungary’s forthcoming foreign policy strategy, in which our Institute will play an active role. He also emphasised the importance of restoring mutual trust and fostering constructive international cooperation.
Botond Feledy, Director General, and András Rácz, Deputy Director General, outlined the key priorities of the Institute’s renewal, including high-quality, independent research, stronger international professional partnerships, Hungary’s commitment to the European Union and transatlantic cooperation, broader public engagement in foreign policy, and support for the next generation of professionals.
We sincerely thank all our distinguished guests for honouring us with their presence. We hope that the HIIA Diplomatic Dialogue will serve as a foundation for future joint initiatives, professional exchanges, and lasting, successful partnerships.
