Conference on the 70th anniversary of the founding of NATO
On 25 April 2019 the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade hosted an international conference dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of NATO and the 20th anniversary of Hungary’s accession to the alliance.
The conference was opened by State Secretary Péter Sztáray from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, followed by Kurt Volker, Executive Director of the McCain Institute for International Leadership at Arizona State University. During the panel discussions, the external security threats and challanges of the Alliance, the state of the transatlantic relationship and the European defence initiatives were put on the agenda among others, with the participation of well-known experts. As a side event, IFAT also hosted a closed experts panel with the title „Connecting NATO to New Generations”.
