Conference in Transcarpathia on the future of the region

Márton Schőberl represented our institute at the Re:open Zakarpattia forum held on 11-12 November.

In the panel entitled “Conversation of allies: messages from Warsaw, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava and Kyiv” the director of the IFAT outlined the geopolitical determinants of Hungarian foreign policy highlighting that Hungary is inherently interested in the enlargement of Western alliances and regional cooperation, and therefore Ukraine is also perceived through these perspectives. In the course of the two-day conference, an opportunity was also provided for consultations with local organisations, such as the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod and the responsible Hungarian border police authorities.
