On 16 June 2023, the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA) hosted a delegation from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) led by Vice President Gao Peiyong, for a closed discussion.
After introducing their respective institutes, the participants discussed topics such as the challenges posed by the Russo-Ukrainian war, the state of the Chinese economy and its near-term goals, and the possibilities for increased economic cooperation between the European Union and China. During the successful meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue and effective cooperation between China and the European Union.
