On November 14, 2022, our Institute hosted Mr. Çağatay Kılıç, Head of the Foreign Affairs Committe of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, alongside other members of the committee as well as the Embassy of Türkiye in Budapest. The discussion was led by IFAT Deputy Director for strategy Mr. Tamás Baranyi.
At the meeting, the main tenets and areas of Turkish foreign policy were discussed as well as the security situation in Eastern Europe, and Türkiye’s essential role in maintaining Europe’s energy security. Çağatay Kılıç gave a succint overview of the country’s accession process to the European Union, the present stage of EU–Türkiye relations, and their further prospect. The Turkish parliamentary delegation finally discussed main issues of bilateral relations with colleagues of IFAT.
