Analysing how Serbia’s energy objectives fit into its foreign policy strategy, it explores the tensions between energy security and sustainability, particularly in Serbia’s reliance on fossil fuels and its cooperation with Russia. The analysis highlights the role of the European Union in promoting energy sustainability, providing policy recommendations that urge Serbia to enhance regional electricity connectivity, review ownership structures in key energy assets, and diversify energy sources for a more resilient supply.
