After studying in Poland, Pál Attila Illés became a lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. He then worked as a neighborhood policy coordinator in the Strategic Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his diplomatic mission, he served as first secretary at the embassy in Warsaw, then became head of mission at the consulate general in Gdańsk, which was established with his assistance. He is director of the Wacław Felczak Foundation. His research focuses on the identity and social, political, and religious relations of Central European nations.
