Omar Sayfo received his first MA in Arabic Studies and his second degree in Political Sciences from Eötvös Loránd University. He defended his PhD-thesis in 2016 at Utrecht University. In 2014 he was a visiting researcher at the HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World, University of Cambridge. His main fields of research are Middle Eastern media and politics. His first academic monograph was published in 2021 by Edinburgh University Press.
