On September 16, 2021, the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT) hosted a delegation led by program director Jason Worlledge from the International Republican Institute.
During the meeting, the differences between the Hungarian and American perceptions of China and the historical-cultural reasons for the difference were discussed. Special emphasis was placed on economic issues, in particular on the extent to which Hungary is linked to the Chinese economy through German value chains, and how this linkage shapes Hungarian economic and foreign policy goals. At the highly productive meeting, the two institutions committed to continue the dialogue.
