János holds a Master degree in History and English at Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest, and also an MA from the International Studies Department of the University of Leeds (United Kingdom). He has been a diplomat since 1992; he has served in London, Bucharest, and Chişinău (deputy head of mission, first counsellor). His main research fields are Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, neighborhood policies, and also information warfare and security policy. Published two books in poetry and several studies.
