China’s Investments in Europe and Chinese–Hungarian Relations

Recently several European governments have turned towards China, looking at Beijing as some sort of a rescuer in the present debt crisis. The large amount of foreign exchange reserves – nearly 3,300 billion dollars – accumulated by China during the last few decades may, no doubt, seem to be a promising resource. Looking at the issue in more detail, however, it is clear that anticipations are exaggerated.
