In 2023, Japan held the presidency of the G7. Our guest, Ambassador Otaka Maszato, who represents Japan as Ambassador to our country, spoke about the experiences of the Presidency, Japan’s new concept for the Open and Free Indo-Pacific (FOIP), which was released in the spring, and on Japan’s connectivity vision for the region. We also discussed the prospects for cooperation between Japan and the ASEAN regional organisation.
