In her research, Ágnes Vass focuses on the domestic and foreign policy issues of Slovakia and the Czech Republic, the broader Central European region, and the relationship between minorities and majorities in this area.
Before joining the Institute’s team, she served as the head of the Ambassador’s Office at the Canadian Embassy. Prior to that, she was the head of the European Relations Office at the Antall József Knowledge Centre. As a research associate at the University of Alberta, she studied Central European migration to Western Canada and participated in research projects on Hungarians beyond the borders at the Institute for Minority Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. She earned her PhD at Corvinus University, focusing on the issues of dual citizenship through simplified naturalization in Hungary, specifically among Hungarians in Slovakia and Canada.
