Márton Ugrósdy took part on the Re: Open Zakarpattia 2021 Forum, which took place in the Trascarpathian region of Ukraine. In his remarks, Director Ugrósdy spoke about the historical determinants of Central Europe, especially the fact that this region has always been the playground of great powers, and the nations living in this area had become experts in resisting outside pressure and oppression, making the different communities very resilient against outside influence. Dr. Ugrósdy underlined that in the light of the growing USA-China tensions, the geopolitical significance of the region will be lower in the future, meaning that the countries of Central Europe will have to sort out their differences on their own.
